German Lessons in Cork

As one of the most spoken languages in the world, particularly in Europe, German is considered one of the key languages of global business. The main reason behind this popularity is simple: Germany is the largest economy in the continent, with the fourth-largest GDP in the world. So, if you are looking to connect with German businesses locally or abroad, start learning German in Cork and broaden your professional horizons. Clear communication is a crucial element of business success and globalisation has ensured that companies are more connected than ever before, meaning you will find many businesses in Cork that use German as their working language, like McAfee or Advancing People.

Need more motivation to learn the language? Don’t let its seemingly inaccessible, long compound words intimidate you. German and English share the same linguistic branch and almost 50% of their vocabulary. Impressive, right? Furthermore, they share many grammatical items, such as the English irregular verbs, which closely resemble strong German verbs in their inflections. Reach out to us at Listen & Learn and our native-speaking instructors will share tips and tricks for you to understand the nuances of the language and become fluent in a short time.

Of course, to be proficient in German you’ll also need to be able to practise outside the classroom. Luckily, Cork has more than 1,200 residents who speak German as a first or second language, meaning you’ll always find opportunities to put your skills to the test. For example, you can join the Language Exchange Cork Meetup to meet like-minded people while putting your German skills to use. Reach out to us today, and soon you’ll be able to hold a conversation in German using idioms and informal vocabulary!
