Roll Up for Some Great Foreign Flicks (Part I)
I just read that the shortlist of foreign film nominees for the Oscars have been announced for the next event. I am going to come right out and admit that I haven’t seen a single one of them yet. Still, it seems like a good time to think of some foreign flicks which could help you learn a language better. Here are three of my favourites from around the world.
El Secreto de Sus Ojos
This is a fantastic Argentine film which I saw for the first time not too long ago. It is a gripping story with some fine twists and I think it won some big awards when it came out a couple of years ago. If they like crime thrillers and want to learn Spanish Birmingham residents could do a lot worse than watch this one. If you want to watch it in English it is called The Secret of Their Eyes. If you are starting to learn Spanish then I would suggest watching it in that tongue but with subtitles on. Will you guess the ending? I didn’t but then I never do.
