Exciting Ways to Enjoy Your New Language Even More (Part II)
Meet Russians in Aberdeen
I don’t know how many people from the Granite City are currently studying Russian but I guess that there must be a few bold Aberdonians who plan to read Dostoevsky in his native language at some point. Anyway for anyone who wants Russian lessons Aberdeen seems like a good place to do it. I couldn’t find any Russian festivals or restaurants around here but I did find a few internet sites where you could contact Russians in the area and hopefully practice the language. The only time I visited Aberdeen I was knee high to a haggis but I guess that the presence of the oil industry must have attracted a fair few of them since then.
Take a Trip and Read a Book
I lived briefly in London and my lasting impression of the UK capital is that is a great place to travel from and in which to buy used books. If you are planning to learn German London is a terrific base to make trips across to Germany there and also look for books in the language. I am sure I also stumbled in to a German delicatessen there one time.
