Does the Internet Do Spanish? (Part I)
If you come across to Latin America for Spanish lessons and a bit of a good time then you will probably do what I do and use the internet to stay in touch with people back home. There is no doubt that the likes of Hotmail and Skype are fantastic for speaking to friends and relatives but can the internet do more for you when you are abroad?
Get Used to the Language
After my first few Spanish classes I went back to the place where I was staying with my head throbbing. It is a lot to take in and for several months afterwards I simply couldn’t listen to a lot of people talking Spanish together without feeling my head spin. I then discovered that the internet was a great solution, as reading a new language is much easier than listening to it in my opinion. If you have some favourite sites which you tend to use then have a look and see if they offer a Spanish version. It might be hard work at first but you will find that it definitely helps you feel comfortable with the language after a while.
